Kang's death may have actually benefited the MCU, as Jonathan Majors' personal issues led to his firing from Marvel. This gives the option to leave this version of the character behind.
Killing Kang in Quantumania eliminates the need for the MCU to address a major plot thread and opens up new opportunities for other threats and storylines.
